So, here is an update on the cover artwork. What are your thoughts? Better or worse? I’ve added some more layering, lots of blood, and I’ve changed some of the text.
I’m probably going to have to redo this thing completely if I go to print, as the resolution isn’t so hot. Stupid, stupid Sebastian. So no worries if you have critiques. Leave your comments below…

It looks great, I think red on red text is a little difficult to read, perhaps off setting it slightly to the left (A cobweb games release) so it kind of matches the “hell” over “Leather” proportions.. Difficult to explain in text.
Blood spatters look great, pity the logo can’t go on the cover. Have you tried putting on the logo with text that I sent you the first time but invert it and blend in pin light blending mode?
Either way it looks great, interested to see how you’ll do the back cover now.
You’re right. I think I’ll drop the cobweb a bit to the left, and tuck both of those lines to the right a little. Maybe I’ll brighten up the cobweb colour. I want to get the logo in there. I tried messing around, but I couldn’t figure out the blending modes. I’ll have another play during the week. This cover will do for the playtest version, anyway… (Which I’m still editing. Eeek. Only 1 and 1/2 hours until the deadline.)
To clarify:
MY deadline, not the competition deadline.
It’s pretty cool. I like the bloodsplatter. And Jay’s suggestion. The only thing I’d change is the word hyperviolent. I don’t think you need it. Eveything else, especially the splatter, already says it’s violent and I think you end up overcooking it. Show don’t tell kinda thing. But that’s just me.
Good point Roger. I like the imagery of the text in that position, so I’d need some different text to replace it. Any suggestions?
‘A superfuckingcool roleplaying game that’ll blowyourtinylittlemortalmind motherfucker’ is obviously what jumps into my head first off but it might end up looking a little squished. I do agree the text there does look good. You could revert to your previous ‘team vs team roleplaying’ from the previous incarnation if that still suits it? That could work quite well. Otherwise I’m not sure but I’ll give it some thought.
Good call. I’ll try that out for the final edit. Incidentally, the text for the playtest draft is ready to go. I just have to meddle with some export settings so my software will recognise the font, and then I can upload. When I made myself the deadline, I forgot about the techie side of publishing. Goddamit!
