Welcome to the second part of Cobweb Art, Jason Hickey’s weekly look at the art behind the games.

Nail Girl as promised. The brief was to sex things up with all the trashiness that you would expect from this pulp masterpiece. We talked about pushing things as far as possible and in the end had a proposal which involved a car crash and a sexy woman with her breasts pressed up like two large air bags against the windscreen mid collision..

Needless to say that idea was left to brew and we stuck with our second choice.. A sexy builder/librarian woman shooting a nail/staple gun into some poor unfortunate male’s face/neck. Ok.. I drifted a little off topic and decided to leave her in post-coital contemplation after gunning down the nearest male.

Watch the “magical” process unfold before your eyes. Also note that while the woman is clearly the centre piece it is worth admiring the bloody sketchy mess that I left in the back ground. :)

Please leave comments and suggestions of more art work you’d like to see in game. If you’re suggestions are inspiring enough they might make it in to the final print!

Robert Bohl, the free minded designer, posted an interesting mish-mash of meta products over on his blog. He combined a playtest report of Apocalypse World with the HfL Frame system to produce a micro actual play vignette. Interesting, quirky and lateral.

On the back of this, I’d like to point you guys to his game, Misspent Youth. I haven’t played it myself, but it looks like my cup of tea. Check it out. Support it.

He’s a good egg.

  • RPG Net locked down the Hell for Leather playtest report. Controversial.
  • It gets better. Hell for Leather has been banned from RPG Net. Wow.
  • Just finished a zero-prep 2 player game of WFRP. Pretty stale. I feel strange. Used up. Hollow. Trad gaming doesn’t do it for me no more.
  • A 1min video tutorial for an indie RPG. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHj-lFG8cLA
  • You’ve got 10 days to write 7 lines for a game of pursuit and violence. The Hell For Leather Frame contest has begun. http://bit.ly/cRtEqp
  • I go forward in time to ride on a Hover Board. Twist ending: Hover boards have been invented but there’s no fuel to make em go. #TwimeTravel
  • I won €40 at poker night. Awwwww yeah!
