In response to an article by Fred Hicks on building community, I decided to start a mailing list.
Social networking confuses me. If people are playing Hell for Leather, thinking about it, or even just willing to listen to others, I want to offer them a forum. But it’s got to be quick and it’s got to be friendly. So, over the next few months, as a development/release micro project, I’m looking to enlist a small cabal of gamers to a discussion mailing list. Every week or so I’ll be bouncing ideas and playtests around to see what people think. I’m hoping to use this as a forum for short feedback, suggestions, scheduled meet-ups and general HfL chatter.
I realise now, in the world of Tweets and Google Buzz, there isn’t much place for old methods like the mailing list, but nevertheless, I find it friendly and comfortable. If you agree, join in.
P.S. If you use Gmail, go here instead.
